Take the 5/4 on Juan Elcano in the Denford Stakes

When it comes to betting on horses, I do know many of you out there are going to want to follow the smart money, and will want to stick to betting on horses that many other punters are backing, and if that is the case there is one horse you should be betting on this coming weekend.

That horse is running at Newbury on the 7th of August, that being this coming Saturday and it is the Denford Stakes race that heavily backed favourite is going to be running in, and the name of that horse is Juan Elcano.

However, if you do fancy following the smart money and backing it, then be aware the odds that most bookies are currently offering are 5/4 and they are of course subject to change at any time, and I am of the mind those odds are going to get much shorter in the days ahead.

Therefore you need to get you money down much sooner rather than later if you do fancy taking your chances on Juan Elcano winning this years running of the Denford Stakes, for if you delay you may be offered odds of less than even money, as I am certain it will end up going off at odds-on.

Three Places Paid Each-Way

Getting paid out at one fifth of the win odds if your horse finishes in one of the top three positions, will of course only be profitable if you do pick out a horse with decent win odds.

However, if the favourite doesn’t go on to win this race, then there is always a chance one of the outsiders could spring a surprise, and if you back them each-way you will still get the full win odds on the win part of such an each-way bet.

Who Should I Back Each-Way?

I would study the form of the rest of the field if I were you if you fancy backing against the favourite, for that horse does have a mighty fine chance of winning, but it is not a certainty to do so, some horses that are much higher up the betting markets for reference are Sun Power at 3/1, Thunderous at 4/1 and Wyclif at 11/2.

There is not much chance of any of the other runners winning his race, but there could always be the chance that one of them will finish ins second or third positions with a great deal of luck in running and two that spring to mind are Pyledriver and Sesame Birah who are both 9/1, and it is also possible that Buhturi at 12/1 could run into a top three position too.

If you cannot help yourself and insist on backing some of the rank outsiders then I wish you all the best of luck, and the horses you are much more likely to want to bet on, but should keep your stakes to some rather modest amounts, are Frankel’s Storm at 16/1, Lost Empire at 20/1 Ziggle Pops, Nirodha and Walkonby are all around 25/1.
