You have still plenty of time to try and make sense of the current state of the ante post betting markets on this year’s 2019 Irish Greyhound Derby, however as that event did start last month, and as the number of runners is going to reduce this month, there is a slot to be said by betting on it right now.
As for which greyhounds have been the ones punters have been latching onto, well I will be taking a look at some of them below, and it will be the early odds that one of our featured betting sites, that being Coral are offering that I will be enlightening on and showcasing to you below too.
A little background about the Irish Greyhound Derby first though, that is a race that is held at the Shelbourne Park greyhounds stadium each year, and this year there is a huge €300,000 in prize money on offer.
The lion’s share of that prize money though does of course go to the winning owner, and that winning owner will walk off with some €140,000, so there is a lot to play for and plenty of owners do have their eyes on that first prize pay-out.
Having been on offer and readily available at outright win odds of 8/1 last week, and as the odds now attached to Magical Bale are just 11/2 right now, that is the one greyhound many a punter do rate the chances of and have been backing on the ante post betting markets.
Another greyhound though that has been attracting a lot of support in the last week or so is Lenson Bocko for the best odds currently available at Coral on that greyhound are just 6/1 and as those odds were 14/1 you can see for yourself just how much money has been bet on it.
Place an Each-Way Bet Instead
One quarter of the win odds are available right now at the Coral betting site if you place an each-way bet, but what I do like about their each-way betting terms are that they are paying out to four places too, so there is some value to be had by placing an each-way bet with Coral currently.
Looking further afield than the first and second favourites, well one greyhound that is a standout each-way bet for sure and one that if everything goes as planned could end up winning the Irish Greyhound Derby this year is Killmacdonagh and Coral are going 7/1 on it right now.
A couple of other rock solid each-way betting propositions right now include both Grangeview Ten and Lenson Blinder both of which you can easily back at odds of 8/1 and moving onto the next greyhound in the betting well that is Ballymac Cooper at 10/1, in fact Run Happy has also just been backed down to odds of 10/1, so it’s very fair and true to say there is some support around that greyhound too from punters over in Ireland.
